Faculty of Theology Library - دانشکده الهیات و معارف اسلامی
The library of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies was established in 1357. In the beginning, due to the newness of the library, the necessary order and according to the library systems were not ruling the library, and the books were classified according to the subject, and cards were prepared for each book, which only contained the information of its descriptive list. The library had about 12,000 copies of books, none of which were cataloged. The location of the library was a space with an area of 450 square meters in the central building of the university - a place dedicated to the Faculty of Theology.
In these years, the library's reference, loan, study and press sections were all in a small and unseparated space, and basically, with this situation, lending books was done in a traditional way, relying on the librarian's memory and sometimes using a bookkeeper. And hence it was very difficult to recover the book. At the beginning of entering the library, the books were registered in a book and placed on the shelves without cataloging.
With the hard work and perseverance of the librarians and staff of the college library and the support of the honorable dean of the college, in August 1379, it was decided that the library would be cataloged in the US Congress system and the machine system would be replaced by the manual system. With the use of 3 computers in August 1379 and the cooperation of 3 library students with the library staff, including 3 women and 2 men, and the collaboration of 2 librarians from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, data entry through the databases of the National Library and the Central Library began. became. The information was entered into the computer through the Pars Azarakhsh program system under DOS, and the books that were not listed were listed and their information was entered into the computer system. The work of entering information started from August 1379 and continued until the end of the year, during this time, the library remained in the central building of the university, but other departments of the faculty were moved to the new (current) building. The late Mrs. Suleimanian was one of the people who joined the library staff during these days, but unfortunately she passed away after three months due to an illness. The computerization of the system was done by the library staff without financial expectations and only out of enthusiasm.
In May 1380, the library was moved to a new building, and by separating the reference section from the repository section, the library took on an original image. From 1373 to 1380, about ten thousand copies were added to the library collection and the number of its personnel reached six people. Since 1380, the service facilities of the library have increased and ten computers were provided to the library to provide services. Currently, book lending and all related matters are done by computer, and for this, one device as a server, 3 devices for the lending desk and information entry, one device for the reference department and 4 devices for searching and requesting students. is used. It should be mentioned that in 2003, the information system was changed from the DOS program to the Pars Azarakhsh Windows program, and now the library system is available to everyone under the Pars Asa website.
The Persian and Arabic books of this library are about 39,000 volumes and the Latin books are about 448 volumes until the end of February 2017, and 23 Persian titles, one Arabic title and 9 Latin titles are also accessible in the library. In addition to that, a significant number of CDs of books are available in the library for borrowing and use on faculty sites.
